Today’s Focus

 The TWO OF WANDS – the focus is on reflection, choice, change, and action.

This card explains that we should take a few minutes to reflect on how we have or have not moved towards our life’s goals in the past year. January 2016 the cards kept telling us over and over that there was going to be change in our lives. How many experiences did you have that changed your lives?

The choice that the Two of Wands is offering us is that we can proceed down the path that we have been following for the past year and experience the same amount of personal growth as we experienced last year or take the other path that will bring us closer to our life goals.

The card is telling us that to make a change in ones life there is always an action must be taken. This sounds easy at first but there is always a problem making change happen in ones life, and that every one of us has trouble making changes in our lives. Technically our conscious mind hates change and will try to hold us back, or sabotage any efforts we make to make a change in our lives. This is the major reason why most new years resolutions fail and we go back to our old ways before January has come to an end. Sometimes we make a major change in our lives and make a move but find that everything in the new place is all wrong and we have to return to where we started. In this case the conscious mind has only allowed us to experience the negative aspects of the new experience.

Do not get me wrong, it is possible to make a change in ones life you just have to be committed to making the changes in spite of what obstacles that your mind throws in your path. I read a statement once “Everyone is responsible for their own actions”. You must take control of your own mind before you can make a change in your life.

As I look back over my own life there was a major change that life this last year, it took a little over 11 months, but my life has taken on a new direction. The interesting part is that I would never have envisioned that I would be heading down this road. After 73 years on this earth I finally rediscovered a path that I had started down 65 years ago and had abandoned for something that I thought was more interesting at the time.

When I look at this card it means that I could continue following my new path or return to my old path that was not leading me anywhere. Obviously I will be heading down my new life’s path.

Remember the changes that you make today will alter what happens in the future.
